I’m a sucker for knowing how things end, so chances are I will continue w Argh I ceadly sure what to expect at all. Return to Book Page.

Book Review: Deadly Little Secret by Laurie Faria Stolarz – Jessica Lawlor

It’s ceadly and full of awesomness. With more than two million books sold worldwide, Stolarz’s titles have been named on various awards list. Either way, it annoyed me. She doesn’t see him again, until the first day of her junior year. He tells Camelia she is in grave danger, and that she needs to trust him.

Nov 13, Dwadly ; rated it really liked it Shelves: At the same time, she starts getting weird phone calls and presents in the mail. The MC is obsessed with Ben, so bad, i didn’t see it the first time, but now that i ljttle read some pretty bad books, it jumps out at me more, and i couldn’t see past it.

I actually don’t gravitate toward this genre but I am more and more as of late.

It’s a stupidly quick read, tells a simple enough story and doesn’t delve into the teenage psyche much. By the end, I was so turned around I didn’t quite know what to think of anyone, including Ben and even Camelia’s best friends Wes and Kimmy! Since this is my second time reading one of Stolarz’s books, I was pretty acquainted with her type of writing. And for two, I liked how she gave Ben at ultimatum in this book because it proved strength on her part and made Ben step it up.

Dec 16, Megan rated it it was ok Shelves: The writing is not amazing–I get the sense that we’re supposed to care faaria and like Camelia’s neglected best friends she ignores them in her fascination with Ben but they’re really not that interesting–they’re actually kind of annoying. For the most part I’m pretty bad at reading them cause I just can’t take it!

You don’t get to know Camelia all that well, even though she narrates – there’s not much going on in her head aside from describing what she sees. Horrible en Find this review, plus laurle, on my blog: I loved reading about Camelia and her friends.

Ben returns to school, but he remains aloof, and Camelia can’t get close enough to share her secret with laudie. I couldn’t get enough.

Every few chapters, readers were made privy to the stalkers innermost thoughts about Camelia and his plans for her. They actually don’t seem that cliche–well ceadly Kimmie– but I credit the author for that anyway.

Deadly Little Secret

The romantic tension between Camelia and Ben, two people so obviously still in love with one another was agonizing. Snark and gifs The fact that the beginning of this book was literally like Twilight made me rage. Oh, Kimmie’s family including her little daria Nate. What was there flowed quickly and the whole book was read in a few hours so that was one good thing.

DEADLY LITTLE SECRET by Laurie Faria Stolarz | Kirkus Reviews

Laurie Faria Stolarz is an American author of young adult fiction novels, best known for her Blue is for Nightmares series. To be fair, my 2-star review comes from the viewpoint of an adult reading a novel meant for kids in their early teens. For me this book was about lkttle.

And there are some really good twists–such as the journal entries we get. The characters are straight out of the Blue is for Nightmares series: I’m not a big fan of the genre. The set-up is straight out of Twilight and read-alike Evermore: She actually does see him again- Ben Carter, who, rumor has it, murdered his ex-girlfriend.

She wants to see me lose control. View all 14 comments. The characters were pretty good. I love Ben, but in this moment, I am team Adam. It just felt a little too silly and juvenile. I didn’t realise I was reading Twilight Can’t explain that without giving the only cool element of the book away. And her life and this book completely keeps you guessing and hanging on to find out more.

Yet when, on the first day of school, she sees him, Ben Carter, the new boy with a bad reputation and an even darker history, he pretends he doesn’t recognise her and insists he never saved her life.

Sixteen year old Camelia had a fairly ordinary life until an unexpected brush with death. Especially if you liked Deadly Little Secrets. I don’t think you’l be disappointed in the least. To see what your friends thought of this book, please sign up.

I enjoyed myself and thought this was a nice book to lay down and read I didn’t get bored once throughout the book and did not feel as though it dragged, which annoys me all too well. After a cute and sweet scene where they talk and Ben ends up spending the night at her house, cuddling her all night while she sleeps, it finally sticks and a distance starts to come between then.

In addition to pining for Ben constantly, a new love interest emerges.
