Since the second time I picked it up I have read at least six other books in between. I started reading this book months ago, left it bojovika a while and picked it up again. I should not have been surprised since he became president of South Africa in and the book was published inbut I overlooked that crucial detail.

DNF’d at page A truly inspirational man. Perhaps instead of describing it as long winded, I should say it is thorough in details. So, its kind of a lie that I am reading this book.
I have heard a lot about this book but I had never been interested in reading it. Jessica If your child has a keen interest in reading political ceeta, then yes? Nelson is one of my many heroes, so of course I had to read his memoirs.

Surprisingly readable when one remembers that Mandela spent nearly 30 years in prison. I am glad to have read it, but more glad to have finished it. I am glad I read the book, I admire and respect the man but it wasn’t revolutionary for me as it was for others again for above mentioned reasons. Before his presidency, Mandela was an anti-apartheid activist, and the leader of the African National Congress’s armed wing Umkhonto we Sizwe.
As it happens when ever I learn more about a highly popular figure be it a celebrity, a political figure, a man who made history or all of the above I am reminded that they are human Following his release from prison on 11 FebruaryMandela supported reconciliation and negotiation, and helped lead the transition towards multi-racial democracy in South Africa. Like I said to a friend, he could remember the exact name of someone he met at a gas station 50 years before and what they each were wearing.
This book is not yet featured on Listopia. Before that point he seemed to stand for a position but didn’t know why. I do feel bad for his first wife and their children, who grew up without a father. Despite its length, this book ran out pages before it got to the part I was most interested in– Mandela’s campaign of reconciliation and forgiveness of the people that ran the oppressive apartheid system that he fought to end.
The man had an incredible memory. Want to Read saving….

I wonder what his opinion of me was and it makes me chuckle, he must have thought I was the biggest ignoramus for not asking a thing about Nelson Mandela, but instead asking what it was like to date and go to dances there! People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.
